Our Story

Annuity.com was one of the very first websites dedicated to annuity education. When most people were still figuring out what the internet was, this domain was already helping Americans understand one of the most important — and most misunderstood — financial products available.

Today, under new stewardship, we’re honoring that legacy while building something even more ambitious: the most comprehensive, independent, and trustworthy annuity resource on the internet. We’ve invested in expert editorial oversight, AI-powered planning tools, and a carrier network spanning more than 60 of the top-rated insurance companies in America.

Our goal is simple: help you make confident decisions about your retirement income by giving you the best information, the best tools, and access to the best independent specialists.

Our Mission

We believe that every American approaching or in retirement deserves clear, accurate, and unbiased information about annuities — free from the pressure tactics and jargon that have plagued this industry for decades. We exist to educate first, and we measure our success not by products sold, but by the clarity and confidence our visitors feel after using our site. Worry less. Live longer.

What Makes Us Different

True Independence

Many annuity websites are operated by “captive” agents who represent a single insurance company, or by lead-generation companies that sell your information to the highest bidder. Annuity.com is neither. We represent more than 60 insurance carriers and compare more than 2,400 annuity products, which means when we help you find a solution, it’s the best fit from the broadest possible selection — not the only option available.

Expert-Led Content

Every piece of educational content on Annuity.com is produced under the editorial oversight of qualified financial professionals. Our Advisory Board Chairman, Bart Catmull, CPA, NACD.DC, brings nearly 25 years of C-suite experience from the life insurance industry itself. Our content doesn’t just describe annuity products from the outside — it’s informed by people who’ve helped design, price, and regulate them from the inside.

Learn more about our content standards on our Editorial Oversight page.

Purpose-Built Tools

We don’t just publish articles — we build tools that help you answer real questions. Our MYGA Rate Comparison tracks live rates from 60+ carriers, updated daily. Our Longevity Calculator — developed using AI and informed by multiple peer-reviewed studies — estimates not just how long you may live, but how advances in AI-driven medicine and diagnostics could extend your lifespan. And our What Is Your Number? calculator helps you identify the gap between the retirement income you need and the income you have.

Our Leadership

Annuity.com is led by a team with decades of experience across insurance, financial services, technology, and consumer business — united by a commitment to making annuity education trustworthy and accessible.

How We Make Money

Transparency matters, especially in financial services. Here’s how Annuity.com operates:

Our Business Model

When you decide to purchase an annuity through one of the independent agents in our network, the insurance carrier pays a commission to the agent, and Annuity.com receives a portion of that commission as a referral fee. This never costs you anything extra — annuity commissions are paid by the insurance carrier and are already built into the product’s pricing whether you purchase through us or directly.

Importantly, our educational content, rate comparisons, and calculator tools are completely free and available to everyone — whether you ever purchase a product through our platform or not. We believe in earning your trust through education first.

For complete details, see our Disclosures page.
